Welcome to Wall Street Instructors' Ethics for Florida P&C Agents web site. This self-study program has been approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services for 4 credits of intermediate level continuing education. This course fulfills the Department’s three-credit requirement on the topic of “Ethics” and the one-credit requirement on “Hurricane Premium Discounts and Mitigation Options”. The study text is offered as an interactive, on-line course covering the following topics:
· the nature of ethics,
· professionalism in the insurance industry,
· state and federal regulatory framework,
· an agent’s fiduciary responsibilities to client and carrier,
· ethical concerns in day-to-day agent behavior, as well as
· hurricane mitigation efforts clients may take to reduce premium cost on windstorm policies.
The course is presented in six chapters with six online study reviews. You must complete all of the study reviews. The study reviews will help you to better understand the material presented in the study text.
Passing grade for this program is 70% correct. The exam is given on the "honor system" — an outside monitor is NOT needed. Upon successful completion of the final exam, Wall Street Instructors will send you a certificate of completion for your records and electronically file your results with the Department of Financial Services.
